Had to come and share!

Hi everyone!

I'm still hanging in there. I am trying to not be on the computer as often yet until my eye heals more. I've been to the eye doctor several times this week so far. And back again next Monday too and as often as I need to go until this heals more.

Thankfully, I learned to type well in college without looking at the screen. Forgive me for any typo's, as today, vision is still blurry, however I can open my eye more. The doctor feels that the drops and the horse pill he gave me will soon help with that. It's just a matter of time and ya' know we can't rush healing. My eye is still quite sore mainly due to the surgery and the stitches. I think between the blurriness and the stitches, that's what's driving me most crazy besides the fact that oh my gosh, leave the housework undone for almost a week, yikes. Lots to catch up on, much less couponing.

I did want to come and share something with you though. I haven't blogged much due to my vision, due to the surgeries and so forth. Again, trying to stay off the computer as much as I can to let my eye heal and to not strain it. Although, that's driving me crazy too as I LOVE to blog and can't do much currently due to my eye surgeries. Normally, this eye surgery wouldn't be so bad, however, I have what they call Retinopathy of Prematurity, aka: ROP. Look it up. My doctor had operated on many people with my condition and hasn't ever run into the issues I had. Therefore, making my case much more rare. I had one surgery April 11th that wasn't successful. Then to make matters worse, had to have yet a 2nd surgery on the same eye on the 23rd of April.

I was estatic last night to open my eye without it wanting to close on me and to be able to see clearly, oh my gosh what a difference! However, that didn't last too long. :( This morning before my appointment, it was blurry again. The doctor said my eye is still inflamed from all the work that was done to it in the same surgery. They combined the surgery. They removed the cataract, then they did a secondary Inter Optical Lens, and sewed the lens on. Three procedures in the same eye, on the same day, same surgery, quite a bit for that eye to take. It's also my 'good' eye that I can see out of.

I went back to my doctor today, for the 3rd time this week. He said it will improve with time. Which is frustrating to me because I of course just want to get back to living life and COUPONING....lol Surely, I can't be the only one that virtually dreams of couponing can I? ::rolls eyes:: I return to see him again on next Monday.

Vision today is much more blurrier again, due to the inflammation. So please bear with me as I go through all the recovery process. It has been truly difficult trying to learn to get around our home without such good vision. To read mail, to reach in the medicine cabinet and try and grab Tylenol when in fact I grabbed vitamins. To reach in the refridgerator, is that my drink? And cooking, forget it. LOL I can't see the instructions on things much less see to cut things and such. I am not touching that with a ten foot pole just yet.

I do have services here that well normally would help someone like me, however, since my counselor left there and no longer works there, the new people that work there, we have issues with and they aren't so kind to me and refused me services until I am employed. Which is even that much harder for me right now. I'm a college graduate. Upon graduating, (with better vision I might add, still with vision issues, but better than current vision), I struggled for over a year to find employment. Partially due to lack of experience, no knowledge of Quickbooks, barely any knowledge of Excel, and no knowledge of Spanish, toss in my vision issues and that I'd need some equipment to work with which the Blind services were willing to provide, still no luck finding anything in my town. I went on to do my own thing, selling things on Ebay. Worked for several years doing this. It's not as profitable as one might think and it is a lot of work to earn anything on there. Due to all of this, I still struggle. Now even more so due to my current vision. It's very difficult getting around on the public transportation in my condition(and especially in our city...I feel we have got to have one of the worst bus systems ever....but at least we have a bus system....), much less to fill out the paper work for the applications and such. Hence, COUPONING. It's not that I make money off of couponing because I don't. However, I am able to *SAVE* money while couponing. While doing so, for instance, if it weren't for our small stock pile, things right now would be much, much more financially difficult for me and my family.

Which brings up another thing, my exciting news of the day. I returned home from my appointment. I failed to not only close my front door all the way, but also lock it. Which is the first thing I normally do, however, nothing right now is normal to me. Again, adapting to all the daily struggles of trying to see has been the biggest challenge besides having patience to wait for my eye to heal. I failed to close my front door completely and lock it. Which now *is* locked and closed completely after this incident.

I was in the other room trying to clean. I am unable to lift anything for a while, nor am I allowed to bend over. Frustrating when you're use to tying your shoes for instance and you gotta just do things differently. I am working on trying to clean my scrapbook room, which is very much needed. My son has placed some of his things in there without my knowledge and I discovered it today. While in there, I could've sworn I heard a knock on my front door. I made my way through my small scrapbook room, through the laundry room, through the kitchen, dining room(stock pile room..lol) and finally to the living room where I make it to the front door. I opened my eye. I could see someone standing there, but couldn't tell who they were. They asked for me. My front door was slightly opened. The lady said she had a package for me. I told her I couldn't sign the thing for her because I couldn't see to sign it and that she'd need to put my finger where I need to sign. She said she was from Fed Ex. She offered to sign it for me. I allowed her to do so. I'm thinking to myself, "What on Earth did I get? I haven't ordered anything recently, not even samples. What is this?" I thanked her and came back in, closed the door completely and locked it.

I made my way to my bedroom and called my sweetie to tell him what the issue was. He was coming home for lunch soon to help me with my eye drops that I have trouble using on my own. Each time I try and use my eye drops on my own, well, they don't end up in my eye, they end up all over my cheek and I hate for them to go to waste. He offered to come home for lunch and help me. He said he'd look at the package when he got home.

He got here shortly after that. He opened the package for me. I told him to be careful because I didn't know what it was as I hadn't ordered anything and if I had to return it, I needed the box in tact to do so.

He opened it and to my surprise, I was sent one of the scanners from NCP!!!!!!!! Now, NCP, they are National Consumer Panelist. I haven't been able to check my email recently for the last several days due to my vision, so I don't know if they sent me an email regarding this or what, but well, I signed up to be one of their panelists quite a while ago. Last August I believe, maybe September.

Due to Life's crazy issues here at home, trying to get things repaired at home, general cleaning/organizing, daily life, plus couponing, well, things are busy and especially this past week, I haven't had the chance to jump on here and blog like I'd like to. Hence, bear with me while I heal. I am trying my best not to over do things and I'm taking care of myself. Therefore, I haven't a clue if they emailed me or not regarding this.

I do know that sometimes it's very difficult to get chosen not only as a panelist, but to get one of those scanners! To my knowledge, without going and re-reading how it all works, I believe I've heard that it's very hard to get one of these. I believe I can get paid to scan things I purchase as well. I have software to put on my computer (later...hubby will love me for this...lol, as my pc is maxed out nearly on memory....what's another program right??? LOL)and I believe the way this works(without reading the info yet--due to vision--waiting on hubby to bring back my magnifier he borrowed and took to work...lol), I believe I just go and take this with me and scan whatever I purchase. I think I then send them the information on what I purchased and eventually, I think I can get paid for doing this.

So this is the BIG news of my day!!!!!! I had tried previously to get one of their scanners, but was told they didn't have anything in my area. To my surprise, I got one today and I am determined to get this all scored away and set for my next shopping trip once I get my coupons all re-organized which again, will take some time due to lack of couponing for the last couple of months. We've been living off our stock pile and I was even able to donate some to some dear friends of mine, one which needed some things, the other is having a baby any day now and I was able to give her some diapers I am not using along with a sippy cup.

When my sweetie gets home, I'll take a picture of it and post it here. Meanwhile, I must go and try and get this cleaning done and give my eye a break for a little while. Trying not to over do this. I'm so stoked, I can't wait to see better and to be able to use this thing!!!!!! I'm still shocked too that I got one!!!!!! Wow, is all I can say, this is a blessing!!!!!! I will return later and try and find you some deals and stuff. I just have to cut down on how long I am on the pc at a time and make it shorter times that I'm on here. Not one LONG day, just lots of short times on here with LOTS of breaks. Thank you for bearing with me during these struggles. I so very much appreciate you all and I can't wait to learn this so that I can TEACH you all how to do this!!! Whe I figure it out, I'll come and post for you!!!!!!!! :) God Bless you all!!! Ps, never take anything for granted, especially your vision! Much love and (((hugs)))♥~Lisa

See my Blog for a great Giveaway!

Hi Everyone,

Luckily, I can virtually type without seeing what I type. I had to learn how to do that precisely while in college. Anyhow, so if this has any mistakes, disregard them for now being that everyting is still very blurry.

I wanted to let y'all know of a really great giveaway going on. Being that I can't do a giveaway just yet, with all that's going on with my surgeries and all, I'd like to send ya' to this other giveaway to enter. If you win, so do I! So let's jump to it and give it a try! What do ya' say? To me, it's like playing the Lottery, you can't win if ya' don't play right? Or in this case, you can't win if ya' don't enter. At least ya' give it a shot.

See my blog, on the right hand side, there's a Contest Chest Giveaway there, click that and enter to win! Meanwhile, as mucah as I'd love to sit and blog and post and coupon and find coupons and deals and such and all that fun stuff.........darn, I gotta finish gettinng packed and ready to leave for the weekend.

We have some things to take care of out of town this weekend, then we have to go to Arlington for my surgeries EARLY Monday Morning. I am soooooooooo not looking forward to the other surgeries. One was bad enough. I'm a chicken when it comes to anyone touching my eyes, much less cutting them. I realize it's not that big of a deal to others, however, it is to me. It means that I could either leave the surgery with better vision or possible blindness due to the rarity of my eye condition the dr said. So yeah, I'm scared but gotta get my big girl pants on and just go with it. I will not be able to post on Monday and most of Tuesday but when I'm able to, I sure will. Hopefully this weekend, the dear sweetie can help me catch up on my couponin' before Monday's surgery and I pray my son will clean out our fridge for me since I didn't get to finish it and fix it up for me to where 'my' stuff(drinks/snacks/fruit and such) is all on one side for a day or so. Let's hope he remembers. Although, I have this feeling he won't remember.

Y'all take care. I'll post as I can on the road, however I may not be able to see it well. We'll see if my special glasses will help. God Bless y'all and have a great weekend. I so can't wait to see! Much love & (((hugs)))♥♥♥!
